There are a variety of
performance opportunities for students involved in the concert band
(grades 6-7) and the symphonic band (grades 8-12; auditioned 7th
graders).
The pep band is a highly visible and enthusiastic ensemble that performs at most home football, girls basketball and boys basketball games as well as for team pep rallies. The marching band is an extension of the pep band and performs in the homecoming parade. There are also additional ensemble performance opportunities available for students interested in jazz band, drumline, and brass and woodwind ensembles. Large and small group, and solo/ensemble music contest is held in the spring and students are highly encouraged to participate. All members of the symphonic band and high school jazz band participate in the large group contest. All 6th-8th grade students are required to participate in the solo/ensemble contest. |
